Empowering Bihar Through Agri-Entrepreneurship

Transforming post-harvest losses into rural prosperity through food processing clusters led by ex-servicemen and inspired by The Art of Living Foundation.
The Vision

Project Sampada is a transformative initiative of the Jai Jawan Jai Kisan Agriculture Society (JJJKAS) — a Bihar-based NGO led by ex-servicemen of the Indian Army — in collaboration with the Art of Living Foundation (AOL), founded by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Together, we aim to convert Bihar’s agricultural abundance into prosperity by establishing agri-processing clusters across the state — beginning with BIADA Bihta, near Patna. This partnership merges discipline and dedication from the armed forces with spiritual motivation and social entrepreneurship inspired by the AOL.
The Challenge

Bihar is among India’s largest producers of tomatoes and bananas — yet faces nearly 30% post-harvest wastage every year due to lack of local processing units. Thousands of farmers lose income, and young people migrate in search of jobs.

Project Sampada seeks to reverse this trend — by creating sustainable, community-driven processing and export units right here in Bihar.

The Solution
Dual Processing Model — A Year-Round Approach

Motivation & Training

The Art of Living Foundation will inspire and train local youth and farmers through Youth Leadership Training Programs (YLTPs) — building entrepreneurship, ethics, and confidence.
Implementation
JJJKAS will establish and manage processing clusters in BIADA industrial complexes, starting with Bihta, and later expanding across Bihar.
The Impact

Farmer Linkages 800+ tomato and banana growers
